BOOK BANK SCHEME:

         The Book Bank scheme was started in September - 2005 to reduce the financial strains of the poor students. There are 1,010 books on various titles in the Book Bank. Students who are economically disadvantaged can avail this opportunity and they have to return their books after completing their semester examinations.

INTERNET FACILITIES:

      The central Library also offers high speed internet services and it was started in June 2007.Initially there were three computers through them this services were offered. Now we have increased the number of computers in to 10. This service is offered to the PG students especially from 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM; on an average 20 PG students browse the internet in every day.

SEPARATE SECTION FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION:

            A new section, specially for the students who take competitive examination is opened from December 2009. Journals, Magazines, newspapers and important competition oriented books are placed in this section in order to provide both intensive and extensive knowledge to the students in various fields.

TECHNOLOGICAL UPGRADE:

            For fast and reliable Library services (like circulation service, OPAC service etc), we have implemented Library software (named Lips iNet 5.0) from 15th Dec.2007.

 BAR-CODED CIRCULATION SYSTEM:

            The Library has introduced the Bar-coding technology for circulation system (Book issue, return and renewal) since July 2010. It has OPAC service and e-gate register.

E-GATE REGISTER:

     E-gate register is introduced in the library to record the visits of the library users.  The users are asked to bring their bar-coded ID card always to record their visit.

OPAC

    The Central Library has OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) to provide details of its resources. Users can search details about books, periodicals, CDs, question bank, Compliment books, periodical compact disks, floppy disks, and audio cassettes within the Central Library.

CCTV CAMERA:

       CCTV Camera was installed in the library for the security purpose.

​

SUBSCRIPTIONS:

     Library is subscribing more than 101 National and International journals and magazines.  Necessary steps have been taken to subscribe more number of journals and magazines to enhance the research activities

INFLIBNET - NLIST

     Our Central Library is one of the members of INFLIBNET – NLIST http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in/ .The INFLIBNET center Ahmadabad provides National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (NLIST), to get access for more than 6,000+ e-journals and 1,64,300+ e-books through the INFLIBNET center server. It is very useful to staff members, PG and Research scholars.
